Title: Learning to Fly
Fandom: How to train your dragon/ Dreamworks Dragons
Characters: Astrid, Hiccup (Hiccstrid)
Spoilers: Canon compliant with HTTYD, Riders of Berk and Defenders of Berk. Minor spoilers for HTTYD2 if you squint in Chapter 3.
Word Count: 1265 for this chapter, around 11000 total for all 3 chapters so far
Rating/Warnings: T for now, will go up in Chapter 5
Summary: Hiccstrid bridging the gap between Defenders of Berk and HTTYD2.

Here on my LJ or on ffnet or Ao3 if you prefer.

Also: I'm in desperate need of a beta for the next chapter. Are there any interested and available parties here? Chapter is looong (almost 10000 words) and rated T. In particular I'm looking for someone who can give advice on action sequences and help me with ruthlessly editing down the word count. (10000 words is too long for a single chapter, yes?)

OMFG you all! Dreamworks posted the first five minutes to their youtube channel. I saw it on IMDB and hunted down the youtube to embed for you all. Squee to your hearts content. I certainly did. And Oh man I love that song. Gotta get the soundtrack when it comes out

Edit: Apparently there's also a second trailer, too!

Edit 2: Err ah, spoiler warning?

...or if you have a 1080 pixel high def version of it ;)

Does anyone else play School of Dragons? In the game, you pick a dragon to bond with and complete quests. If you buy the Dragons: Riders of Berk DVDs, there are codes that give you a helmet and a special dragon (Whispering Death or Thunderdrum depending on the DVD). It is pretty fun. It came out not too long ago and they are adding more quests and other stuff soon. Read more...Collapse )
